Default Safe Motel Hammond or Slidell

Rolling to Orange Beach, AL for a family fishing vacation. Can't check in till tomorrow around noon, but I was thinking bout breaking up the trip by starting tonight. Can ya'll recommend a safe/cheap place I can park my boat and Suburban full of easily stealable fishing gear for the night.

Stayed at the LaQuinta in Slidell in June. We had about 5 boats with no fishing gear but no one mentioned them getting messed with. The parking lot is set up that you can park within view of your room.

Stay in Gonzales, 20 minutes out of Baton Rouge and, you can leave your boat in my shop tonight. Plenty of nice hotels in the area.

Take up southern151's offer. I wouldnt leave anything of value out in Slidell overnight.

But if you're determined to make it to slidell then find a hotel and you can drop your boat at my sister's house in Slidell. They have a little bit of land and are out where no one will fool with it. About 10 mins off i-10. Text me if you need me to set it up with her. 985-768-1056

IF, you stay in Slidell, watch your credit/debit card charges at hotels. Employees will same night use your number for purchases. Had this happen twice, but manager corrected.

I would completelly avoid Baton Rouge traffic and take Hwy. 90 down through Morgan City and Houma.

If I did take i-10 I would take up Southern on his offer.

a little late, but watch your credit card numbers. I just had $200+ of fraudulent debit charges from a walgreens in slidell on August 4th & 5th...I got gas in Slidell headed to Bay St. Louis for the 4th of July!

You will be fine there. You will be much better off there than some hotel off I-10/I-12 in Slidell. Check out the Chimes for dinner. Its just north of your hotel on Hwy 190. Madisonville is very close if you want to take up the guys offer there.
