Tomorrow I am taking my 12 yr old nephew to the pool for some bass & perch fishing. The last 2 years I have only fished unit D in my kayak. I always seem to catch several bass but nothing of any real size as compared to some of the reports I've seen.
I would like to hook my nephew up with a Big Fish if possible. We will be in a 12ft boat with troll motor only. Can someone give me advice on which area would be my best bet to get him one.
Any advice would be appreciated by me and my nephew

all i gotta say is,senko, red shad laminate senko, ask any of my friends, when i put that senko on with some B.A.N.G most of the time i put it on em,but a chomper brushhog thats a different story, its like cat and mouse game,i win, they win, etc.but anyway, senko or chomper.p.s chompers you can get on ebay.

Thanks for the advice, we will drop the boat in the D unit and give it a try. He would be happy just catching some goggle eyes or bream on crickets off the bank but landing a nice bass would really make his day. I will post a report tomorrow evening.

We showed up at the pool around 7:30 with the winds already building up. Nephew started throwing a baby brush hog from the bank while I unloaded the boat and gear. He caught 3 bass & 2 goggleye by the time I was ready to go. Biggest bass was 14". Wind kicked our butts in the boat, so put it back in the truck and fished from the bank some more. Ended up with enough big bream & goggleye for a fry. Caught 10 bass mostly small but a good trip for a windy day.

I didn't try it yesterday, used brush hogs and finesse worms.
How do rig your senko, and how do you fish it with all the grass in the pool. I have some but don't use them much.

i dont fih senkos with all the surface grass, but if you can find a clear area, texas rig weightless, or wacky worm

yea,i dont usually use it in surface grass but if you could find some clear areas, fish texas rig no weight with a red shad laminate or watermelon blue flake with some B.A.N.G and you will murder the bass.
