Dad and I went up to our camp for a few days last week to cast and blast.
Not many ducks but i knocked down 1. Started fishing in the area of 1215 up north. Got on a good bite on lipless crankbaits and rattle traps in 5 foot of water. Kept 4 threw back 10. That afternoon we crossed over and went to the Indian mounds and found a point with grass in about 7 foot dropping to 20 ft in a creek and got on some better fish using watermelon red stick baits. Kept 2 and I missed a nice one.
Next day we headed to turtle beach but the bitter cold had the fish a little lock jawed. I caught the best of the trip on a crank bait in 7 foot of water. Right at 3.5 pounds
Talked to a guy that has been hammering the monster sac-a-lait on shiners.
Be careful if you go up there
Water is the lowest we ever seen and there are lots of stumps and high spots in the boat lanes
