I have found that saltwater assassins have the most action out of any soft plastic I have used. Does anyone know of any that have better action. thanks

And SA baits don't hold up ....I like them but I can catch 45 trout on one sparkle beetle vs 25 SA baits

In VB area the Norton jrs seem to work very well; glow/char tail....hold up to multiple catches...

the ability of a plastic bait to "hold up" also depends on the style of jighead.

Bayou Chub Minnows by Reaction Lures (now Egret Baits) are my favorite. It has a thin tail that wags with very little movement and they hold up after many bites. H&H cocahoes are the worst. They are stiff. Might as well be made of wood.

disagree with that 100%.....I have been using basic style lead jig heads for years.... Some baits I catch all day with one plastic..... Some others use a few more

I agree 100% I think at all depends on how aggressive the fish are biting. Granted some baits hold up better tha. Others but I don't think the jig heads do any difference. I tried yellowmouth vs basic lead jig heads and it seemed the same at the time.

I love fishing the Tsumani swim shad; my go to bait, however you have to retie every 2 fish...expensive fish right there...

I used nortons with the two prongs coming out and got about 3 fish per ms trout killer until the jighead stopped holding them. Ym was about 6 fish. May not be the case for every bait/jig head style but for that particular bait that's how it went down.

softer baits dont last as long but will have better action in my experience...i like the way atraxx baits move in the water

Ill agree on that the softer the bait the quicker it gets ripped off the jig and slapping another one on.....Just take gulp shrimp for instance not alot of movement because of the length and style in the shrimp but 2-4 fish later its toast.

This little dude (3.5 inch) will stay on long and catch em like crazy. Just ran 4 basic colors to start. I hope to have them in local stores soon. Right now you can buy em online. www.egretbaits.com (http://www.egretbaits.com)
