Garmin.......440s

Saw the Garmin 440s on sale at West Marine so I picked one up.........Man this thing is nice!! It's got ALL the noaa maps in it for the Gulf Coast, only one I've seen that had it from factory, it's usually an upgrade........Smaller screen than what I wanted, but well worth the bucks............Has reefs, all the marina's, even debris and rigs on it..........I'm gonna try the Sonar out tomorrow................Tim

Let us know how much it costs.. My dad will probably be in the market for one.. Is it a hand held, or stationary?

It's stationary............it was 430 plus 70 for the transducer..............And yes, it came w/ all "W"s waypoints!!!! You can upgrade to get other waypoints in biglake so you can catch bigger fish too!!


I was actually there to look at the RayMarine A series, but this one had more features for half the cost!!

Dude, add the GXM 31 antenna and get XM weather and Radio.....
Add the G2 vision card and the unit comes to life.

make sure you download the 5.0 upgrade (free of the garmin site) and you will even have more to brag about.

I have the 540s I love it.
The new unit just operates on the NMEA 2000. The older unit the NMEA 0183 ( I think)
