Doesnt look like it would hold too much weight. and being so short will not be fun to paddle far. Keep your eye out for a good used kayak.

I agree but $300 seems to be a pretty good price for a starter to use on short trips. Probably would be tough to paddle for a long distance. 10' would fit in my truck when pulling the pop-up camper.

This is what I was gonna suggest or do alittle rigging on tow vehicle to be able to haul it.... for around $500 you can get a pretty good 12' with paddle and all if you just watch. Look up TKF.com, Bayoucoastkayakfishing and check the other obvious classifieds.

Thanks, I'll hold on to my $300 for now. I have a couple of canoes that should work. I just don't want a fat surfboard with holes in it. I want to stay dry. Does anyone fish out of a sit-in yak?

I have a 12.5 foot Dagger. Not ideal for fishing, but I'm used to it. Only advantage is it's warm and dry in cold, wet weather. I would not go shorter than 12 feet.

I'm in the market for a used yak. Anyone want to trade for a Captiva Escape sailboat or a 12' canoe, how about a Walker Bay 8 sailboat? I'm boat poor.

Mine just sits in the yard, come pick it up and take it out for a spin.
