If you plan on going any time soon.......... Go to Cameron because all you will catch up north is bass and hard heads

Fred's is on Black Bayou, right off of Big Lake Rd. Can't miss it.
If you get one of them Hot Spot maps, or what ever they are
called, they have a dozen or so kayak spots listed on there.
Or get with someone who has one.

There are NO Hardheads in Biglake. We proved that Fri. and Sat.
We fished with fresh shrimp Fri. and left over rotten shrimp Sat.
and caught ZERO Hardheads. Somewhat of a miracle in Big Lake.

if you hit it right lng holds some fish that is pretty close to cal point...don't fall out its deep.....also just south of heberts is a reef on the point. the bank that runs the east side is pretty good too....too the north of heberts is a few spots that go into a small marsh. i have caught fish there too. I'm kinda new at this saltwater scene so i don't know all the names

I ain't caught any hardheads this year. I did catch a gaftop on artificial,
my first one ever on artificial.

But I am not gonna say anything about Jordan's hardhead meat haul.:p

If you head to West Cove Landing, you can fish for flounder in the cut heading to West Cove. And once in it you can fish the south bank. I've seen many Kayakers in this area.

Ain't it a bit late in the year for 'em?

Hardheads stay in saltwater year round.
They are like mosqueeters.
