I have would say go with the XL as well. Saw kevin ford using them so i got a couple, I cought 8 reds one after the other untill i got it sanged. Very good bait:

Never tried them for trout, they look very good. But both would catch trout

They SUCK........Ask DINK about em............... Bruce and I was fishing one day and Dink pulled up throwing that junk......... I said Tim but on a catch....He said No this will catch em............ Well I was pulling trout off the back of his motor and Bruce was pulling them off the front of his boat...*****... We caught over 100 trout on Catch 2000 that day....... Dink had 3 trout and 1 flounder

The small ones are killer in the surf up against the shoreline especially; and fished over grass beds like in the Chandeluers.
