Very nice off shore boat. I do not think a 150HP is enough for that boat. If it was a bay boat yes. I think too much boat for the motor. Someone mentioned that a had a weight of over 2000 lbs. If that is the case you need at least a 225HP. Just my opinion.

You will find a wealth of information on that boat on the Hull Truth.com and those guys will be able to tell you if the 150 is enough. Sea Hunt has a very good reputation. If your friend is looking at a new boat, he should consider getting prices from Chatlees in North Carolina and Ed's Marine Superstore in Virginia. Both of these dealers are normally thousands less than local dealers. Chatlees has a better reputation than Ed's though.

the 150 could push it with a low pitch prop but it would be slow. maybe mid 30's

i bet the 150 pushes it 40+ no problem with a fishing load

it might. a guy i know has a skeeter 20bay with that f150 and he runs 53 with just him and half fuel. the boat weighs 1750. that seahunt has a lot more wind resistance with the bow and tee top. a lot more boat in the water also cant get the bow rise like the skeeter. i dont know maybe 40.

idk about 40, that boat has a huge hull and high sides.... depends on how it moves through the water. And how much drag it has

at 5300 rpms with 1-2ft seas with a half tank, 4 people the boat would do right at 40. Think you could a little more out of it, maybe 45 if there was zero wind and a lighter load.

You should be able to get 6,000 rpms max with the 4 stroke. Is 5,300 the max rpms you could get out of the motor.

no, thats just as hard as he pushed it, he still had some throttle left

If that is the case the you should be fine. I am impressed that the 150 can push a boat of that weight at that speed. I have the same motor (150 Yamaha 4 stroke) on my boat and it has a lot of power/speed.

my dads boat runs wide open at 4400 and 40 mph with a full gas tank
