Just got a call from the doctor. Wyatt had a setback this morning and has been struggling to breath. They had to turn up his support to a high-flow. They are doing chest x-rays and a CBC to see if he has an infection. Keep the little guy in your thoughts today and let's hope this is just a momentary setback. I haven't felt like this for a month or more. I remember now, I don't like it.

wtretrievers 02-16-2012 12:06 PM

Thoughts & prayers are with y'all!

southern151 02-16-2012 12:06 PM

Keep the faith brother! Just a little bump in the road and, I'm sure it will soon pass.

Mediumheavyaction6'6 02-16-2012 02:19 PM

Okay, the doctors have now increased Wyatt's breathing support to 3 liters on Vapotherm. This is quite a setback because he hasn't been on that type of support since last year. The doctors are running tests still to see what could be causing this problem. At this point, it could be that Wyatt was just not ready for the lowest form of support and it just took him a few weeks after the steroids wore off for him to show the affects. It could also be that Wyatt has a viral infection or is suffering some aspiration during his bottle feeds. Either way, we need some good old fashion faith and my little man needs to be a fighter.

Keep your spirits up, he has alot of people praying for him.

Just remember who has control! he'll be fine!!

Mediumheavyaction6'6 02-23-2012 07:46 PM

I realize that my updates are getting further apart and for that I apologize. Wyatt has made some serious strides since the last update. As of yesterday he was 6 pounds 12 ounces. He has been lowered back down to the lung support he was on before he had his setback and was bottle fed for the first time since his setback. The bottle feeding went exceptionally well as Wyatt was able to take down 47 cc's in one sitting. This is awesome because that is the amount he was being fed at one sitting anyway. If this continues we could really be getting our little man home sooner than later! Only time will tell so we will have to wait and see.

Mediumheavyaction6'6 02-26-2012 07:06 PM

Wyatt will be getting two bottles a day now. He is doing so well that the doctors are going to let him take two a day. If this continues he will be home really soon.

That is awesome!!

fishmaster911 02-26-2012 08:55 PM

Awesome ! Prayers are strong !

Mediumheavyaction6'6 02-28-2012 07:55 AM

Wyatt is now being fed three times a day with a bottle. If he continues on this trend the doctors feel he could be coming home as soon as next week. Wyatt would be coming home on oxygen but we don't care, we just want him home. Next steps are bottle feeding four times a day and then they move home up to 6 and then 8. At 8 a day he can come home. They have been increasing him one bottle a day as of lately.

gonzalesdave 02-28-2012 08:53 AM

great news Lucas!! Praying the little guy will be home soon

I was thinking the same thing!!! LOL:shaking:

Thats great news, hope he gets to go home soon!! Very good news to hear.

Mediumheavyaction6'6 02-28-2012 03:18 PM

Well, the doctors upped him to 4 feeds a day today. If this continues we might be seeing him at home early next week!!!!!

That was on a cheap cabelas scale so he may only be 5 pounds!

Mediumheavyaction6'6 03-03-2012 09:39 AM

Wyatt is now on 6 bottle feeds a day and today should be upped to the magic number 8. If this is the case and he does well with it today and tomorrow we should be coming home with him on Wednesday of next week! Keep your fingers crossed that the boy continues his quest to get out of dodge. If Wyatt does come home Wednesday he will have been in the hospital 138 days! It all seems like a blur now but it also seems like a lifetime.

southern151 03-03-2012 09:42 AM

Right on!!!! I hope he stays the course and gets "parolled" very soon!

DUCKGOGETTER 03-03-2012 09:44 AM

Great news!!!!!

Mediumheavyaction6'6 03-03-2012 09:46 AM

I'm sorry I thought today was the 5th so it'll be 136 days.

Deerfarmer 03-05-2012 12:10 AM

Great, I am so happy, I got goose bumps. I can not imagine the joy you and you family will feel when you carry him home. God Bless. Tell Wyatt attaboy for me.

LPfishnTIM 03-05-2012 01:44 AM
