I've seen erosion the ship channel has caused over the years and alot of it is around the 9 mile area....there is barely a point left @ all and the super cut is just that SUPER BIG!! Only one boat could run through the super cut in the late 90's!! They also had a couple of small islands in the north cut entrance to west cove!!

the trout use the ship channel constantly, but long term who knows.

I think fishing pressure is a factor.

I agree to an extent. With so man boats riding around the fish may be a little spooky. Someone the other day or so asked howto catch big fish, and the response was that if you hit oysters with your trolling motor then just move on, because the big fish will will not bite. Interesting

Same with live well. If you are fishing for big Trout, use a stringer tied to a cleat.
Trout thumping around in a box or ice chest or the sound of a live well is not normal to a big 'un.

I don't doubt that, in his dreams.

I definitely believe that. Think about it...this fellow pioneered this lake for guides. He was fishing the lake before he opened HR&G. There were a lot more big fish back then than there are now. Just listen to the netters. Like W said about his past generations, lots of big fish were netted. I think it was very possible. I bet he caught 5000 fish a year back then. The averages are in his favor.
