as a fly f@g I can tell you that this is going to be a serious problem for a lot of the commercial tyers for freshwater. fortunately, for those that tote the long rod in the salt, we "usually" use feathers from a different part of the rooster. Not that anyone cares, just came out of hiding..

ahhhhhh. yeah, i'm gonna get spanked saturday for sure. I'm taking my 10 year old son to fish the under 16 division. i got your package. I decided to save all my deliveries up and bring the all to D'croix.

This is true, the hackles that are used as hair extensions are the long saddle hackles. Most saltwater fly tiers, such as myself use the shorter neck hackle
