man they sell them a few times a yr

I bought an M44 a few years ago and sold it to a buddy. Never should have done it. I just recently bought the 91/30 from Bullets and Bows in Rayne. Once I got it home, I was calling my shots at 100yrds open sights. I think it would be the perfect project gun. I just wish I had the skills to modify mine.... Sure as hell don't have the money! Y'all should read up on the history of the gun with the Red army during the Battle of Stalingead. Some of the best snipers ever were women with this gun.

Did you buy yours exactly how it looks now? Mine came from a pawn shop originally then I traded my buddy something for it, but I see them at LC gun show every time. Solid rifles, dont know why they are so cheap.

I've got one that looks a lot like what you guys are posting. There's no manufacturer stamp but it does have "cal. 7.62" on the side. Is that mean its just the normal .308? It doesn't have a bayonet but does have a cleaning rod in the end.

What's you guys thoughts?

Lake Chuck Duck 09-28-2011 09:26 PM

post a pic, lets see it! any other words or markings on it?

southern151 09-28-2011 09:37 PM

It's got serial numbers on the receiver and barrel. Is also written by hand on the upper cover with a 19 written on the other side. On the bolt has the same numbers and what looks like the little bomb stamp.

I'll send some some pics via text and you can post em up if ya want. Can't send straight from phone.

budsgunshop.com has them for $109 free shipping. The item number is 411540201. I had mine shipped to the pawn shop on 14 near legion. they did the paperwork and transfer for $20.

either BP or bellas runs them for $99 , 4 or 5 times a year. Check the rifling out carfully to make sure they haven't been shot out . Check you tube on how to clean out all the old grease,

I got an old WWII German rifle. 8MM Mauser. It has the Nazi emblems on it with an Eagle on top of the emblem. The stock was broken, so my dad put a sport stock on it.
He got it from the Sheriff's Dept. back in the day, when they sold confiscated guns, instead of destroying them.

they have diff 7.62 rounds 39, 54,25 and 51 but the 39 and 54 are most popular from what I have seen

So basically they take a rifle like mine, strip it down, change the stock, and sell it in stores?

There are a couple surplus rifles out ther with the same tipe of bold handle. The Mosin Nagant is the only one I have ever seen with that style Mag. If yours mag matches, thats what it is.

Man, I was supposed to take a picture last night. I will have to remember to take one and post it.
