R Sage always has some good deer come out of there though.

Gunna have to check that out....The only time I hunt public is during bow season.

Any idea on how old that deer was when he escaped during Rita? That would make that an old fella, since Rita was 6 yrs ago. Not sure something that big would have roamed around that long without being spotted.

Could not have been to long, there is a trail cam photo on 10/23/2011, on Riverroad Whitetails facebook page, that looks like it could be him. Has the same forward kicker off the lower right main beam. There is several photo's on there that look to be him.

It was on the news tonight. It was the River Road Ranch buck that escaped. Owner said that he never knew it was even out. It was killed several miles from his high fence ranch. He said that it swam the Calc river and headed west.

sounds like it was pretty wild to me if she hunted it for three weeks... I dont know much about that tree lounging though. It is a monster of a deer regardless

weedeater 11-29-2011 09:47 PM

I know this came out of a high fence but what all of the "real deer hunters" of Louisiana don't think about is that all them big bucks killed in NE Louisiana on the Fed and State land is due to deer like this, they brought deer in up there to breed and build bucks many yrs ago and that's a big reason they have them up there so just think what some of these deer could do down here if they were allowed to breed.
