I have progressive on both boats. My 28 ft chris craft had about 10K in damage for Ike. They sent out an adjuster and he took pictures, filed a claim and wrote a check on the spot. Olmsted shipyard said it wouldn't cover the damage. Called progressive and they told Olmsted to fax an estimate. They sent another check, then a third check when we found out the radar had unseen damage.
From my experience with them, they did me good.
I have 100K liability and the boat coverage is what I paid for each boat. I pay $700/year for the chris craft and the cobia together on the same policy.
When I bought the chris craft, I just kept the same policy as the previous owner. Swapped registration and insurance. Mainly cause no one else could match their quote.

I also had state farm for 2 autos and an offshore boat that was damaged during rita. They told me to send them an estimate from a reputible boat yard. They wrote a check right away. Good luck with them too, but dropped them due to the way they treated family members after rita.
