On the flip side of this coin.........if the cop shows up at the wrong address and sicks his dog on an innocent person and said person shoots and kills the K-9, I'd bet he would go to jail for quite some time

Well, they are so strict on what a dog can be deployed on nowadays, that would be highly unlikely. But if it did happen, and the officer followed protocol (announcing K9 x3, etc.etc.) you bet, it would be an ugly arrest for sure!

Its true the cop was doing his job, but so was the dog. Theres too many non-lethal weapons available for cops today to shoot first, especially a dog. What tops it off was that the whole time the cop knows he screwed up but was trying to blame the owner. I respect the law,but I wouldnt have been so polite. I love my dog!

Man good point! If he had a buddy unknowingly coming around the corner of the house while the cops gun was drawn......scary right there

What about the fact of the cop being black? Would a white officer have acted with the same force to a blue heeler? I'm only going on the steriotyoe that "people of color" are inherently scared of dogs.......

Oh no you didn't!!!!!!!!!! Don't you know they teach doggie treats in the academy!!!!

Dink 04-20-2012 03:28 PM

Teach doggie treats? What's that mean?

Finfeatherfur 04-23-2012 10:51 AM

That was a poor excuse for sarcasim!! LOL!! Meaning that no matter the color of the officer, they have a special class in the academy to deal with dog attacks. RIP Cisco!
