getonfish - I wish I was two blocks from that ramp. I drive two hours to launch there. I grew up fishing Big Lake and the Sabine. I'll take the Sabine any day of the week. The first place you should check out is the power plant discharge. I mainly fish the Louisiana side, someone should take you up on your offer. If not, find you a guide. That would at least get you started.

Sabine is split by the La/Tx border, I would say about a 40 minute drive.

The extra driving distance is about 18-20 miles .....so about 20-25 minutes longer drive.

This is to launch at the "Burnt out Bridge" launch south of Vinton, LA.

From the launch, it is about 10 miles by water down to Sabine Lake.
