Here in NC (also where the inventor is from) the bigger flatties tend to come from deep water inlets and river areas, maybe that's why they are so heavy. I met the guy at a fishing show and the products looked like a bunch of overpriced crap to me. Carolina rigs and regular jigheads will do the same thing a lot cheaper.

I fish for flounder in 15-17' of water with a 3/8oz jighead no problems ....1 oz is a bit overkill imo

I do just fine with my 3/0 and 4/0 screw lock hogie jig heads. I wouldnt mine trying them though
