I had an issue with a call doing it not a Riceland but what I did was clean it and soak the reeds in warm to hot water for 20-30min and it helped. I was told that by an old timer he said its like fitting a mouth piece right after you soak it blow it a bit and see what happens. Let it dry and put it to the test maybe put it in the freezer a while after and let it get cold and see if you can simulate cold weather and see if it helped. It was a duck call and it seemed to help a bit. But it may have been a quinceidence. Cheinne caille are hard to blow but like previously stated the guys will help you and tune it to your lung capacity and ability.

Most chien calls come a little harder to blow than other calls. But you can go see mervis and he can make it blow how ever you want it. Personally I like the ones that take more air because I use a lot of air when I call. But he can make it for your preference. Can't say bout a riceland I've never blown one.

Don't be afraid to take the reed and guts out and experiment tuning it different ways. If you look on you tube they have a video on how to clean there call and it shows you how to tune it also.

I would be a little Leary of doin that, but your skill set may be higher than mine.

Don't know if this will help

How much do these calls cost

Asterisk-Rich 01-08-2013 12:10 AM

Keep a dollar bill on you and slide it betweeen the reed and the trough

bgizzle 01-08-2013 12:12 AM

40 and some change for a poly speck. Only issue I had is poly insert fell out and a buddy had the same thing happen... Called James Myers sent me brand new call with acrylic gut for free just had to send body back to him. First class service...

Troubass 01-08-2013 02:52 AM

My Oldest son has a poly and I have an acrylic and neither one has had an issue yet. For $165 the acrylic should blow itself. I had been using a Chien Caille for about the last 7-8 years, the first time I blew the Riceland I sounded better than I ever had with the Chien Caille. It was pretty much the same with my son, he had been blowing a Hydel. Besides sounding great the Riceland is sooo easy to blow.

i been blowing a riceland for four years if u cover it up too much it will stick because its not letting the spit come out an they do echo alot when u hunting a layout muffle it down some to stop the echo an u will see the diffrent

The Polly was right at $70 after tax but the Acrylics and the wood calls are around $160 to $180.

I have the poly and i'm gonna get a wooden for next year. I love my riceland poly.

If anyone is having issues with their call.We will fix them. Not everyone calls the same and sometimes they need a little adjustment.Speck calls should not stick.Duck calls depend on how much moisture you put in but should not stick often.Just email me and we will take care of it.billdaniels@ricelandcustomcalls.com
