I just recently sold mine to my boss but I went everywhere in that thing. 1990 16' Alweld with a 1990 mercury 25hp on jack plate. One of the best motors merc made in my opinion. Did 29-30 mph.

Yeah it was a good boat, but I am alot more happy now that I have my Kenner Vision. Plus my dad has a Jon boat if I ever needed one.

Looks exactly like mine without the console. I agree with ya on the 25hp mercury. My grandparents have one on the back of their Cajun special and its got plenty of power. We tubed, skied, and knee boarded behind it all the time. Had no trouble pullin people. Same cant be said for my 40hp merc

The trim switches are on the steering wheel. The switch to the left is for a Bob's hydraulic lift plate. It's a 20" shaft motor, I can run it up to 29" total height. In fact, that's how I get up in the marsh. If it's too shallow to just jump on plane, I'll raise the lift plate to it's full extension, 29", then stab the throttle. The motor bounces on the rev limiter at 6250, as soon as the boat lunges forward, I'll hit the down button on the lift and away we go.
The steering was a double cable setup, I have since switched it to a single cable steering. I thought I would need the double cable setup for steering torque, but the motor has zero torque at any speed

holy cow 16-52 with a 90, how fast you going, how fast do you want to go, i have a 16-52 xpress its only rated for a 60, what did you have to do to your boat to put a 90 on the back, did you have to modify anything other than the hydrofoil stabilizer, i was going to put pods on mine and a jackplate, debating manuel vs hydraulic, i will soon be putting a 70 on mine, should be fast enough, but now i am curious to how fast yours goes for comparison when i get mine done

I believe his boat is like the X-series Xpress which are very heavy built boats, I had a 19' Xpress with a 200hp Yamaha on it and it would run around 70mph and scare the crap out ya

Here is the rear setup. I bought it as is. I haven't put a GPS on it but I would expect mid to high forties with two people and a chest. It burns some fuel though. I heard a jack plate doesn't cost but $200 and would be interested if I could get lower fifties out of it. And possibly get in the lower waters when we take it to Cocodrie.

yeah that is basically what i had in mind for my boat, does yours still have the tag on it that says what it is rated for? my inside set up is a little different from yours, front deck looks the same, but my back deck may be a little bigger with the live well and my seats are in front of the deck, just enough room in front of the console for a 100qt ice chest, if i don't get 45mph out of mine i will be disappointed
