Just cranking that with a jighead?

You can just crank it with a jig head or fish it like a normal tail - works both ways.

At the first of this video you can see what The Thing looks like going through the water.

Ask Jude about building you a rod on the MHX HM-SB812.

Haven't built on that blank yet. I can say that I am having great luck with the MH (Mudhole) blanks though. The SJ842 is a GREAT topwater/corky rod.

CustomRod 06-22-2013 08:59 AM

Originally was a G. Loomis blank, redesigned by Mudhole. The HM version is 1/2 ounce lighter without giving up any power. It has a unique combination of castability and power. Not good for trout but fantastic for reds. :)

I have 2 of the tourn pros on the way, how do you like them??

As far as what weight rod to use for catching Red's.......

This is probably more of personal preference than what weight rod is better. Some like a Med-heavy, but I only use med-light rods. I alway keep my drag set fairly light. A 2.5 lb Trout can usually strip drag. I have caught 25 lb Reds on my med-light rods with no problems.
