My dads got an '01 7.3 stroke and that thing don't miss a beat. Probably one of the best engines ever made. Once again the government gets involved and produces sh!+

Went from a 2011 dodge diesel to an ECOBEAST and have no regrets. It pulls my 38 ft fifth wheel like a champ. And I have 25000 miles with no issues. And fuel mileage is decent.

Clampy, If it makes you feel better my friend limped home from colorado last week. It is still in the shop. 50k miles

I have a 7.3 with 280000 miles not internal engine work. the company 7.3 has over 400000 with just injector sleeves changed in it about 20000 mile back and getting 19.5 to 21 mpg on interstate. newer is not always better.

I know being broke down in a brand new $60k vehicle is frustrating but don't y'all feel good that were saving the ozone layer. Global warming is real!!!

I know where there is an F-250 with the 7.3 for sale right now. The body is a little rough from a few blowouts and, I think it has 295k on it but, he only wants $4500 for it with 4 brand new tires. That was the best Ford diesel ever made, by a long shot! My mechanic bought a newer 6.0 that was blown(of course) and, bought a wrecked 7.3 just so he could put the motor in the newer truck.

i just got rid of my 07 dodge with the 6.7 cummins, it was a great truck when it ran. when i traded it in, it has less then 20,000 miles on it. i had it in the shop 3 times a year for work. i believe it was the first year for the dpf and egr system. maybe if i bought one the year before i would still have it.

I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra. 5.7L Supercharged. Eat EcoBeasts for breakfast. Love this truck. Third tundra I have owned. I've never put one in the shop. First two trucks went 250k miles before I traded them in for a newer model. My current has 89k and hasn't missed a beat. https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...86217214_o.jpg

im sure your 500 hp supercharged v8 can run a my little 3.5 . stock on stock i will run a yota. Only other truck that comes close. Stock on Stock. It may get 14 with a blower. I had a tundra stampede Hell of a truck. Terrible on fuel. The thing I hated about the tundra was the back of the truck was so light it bounced a lot on the highway but hell I'm grabbing straws here. I like em all as long as it don't leave me on the side of the road.

My other truck is a Dodge 1 ton with a 5.9 so no worries there either |
I couldn't get over about 11-12 with my tundra. I'm sure the blower helped a lot. I had a regular cab 5.4 v8 98 ford 150 with a vortech v1 9lb centrifugal blower. 4:56 gears built trans headers true dual 3" exhaust. It ran 15 flat with 35" tires. Top end was slower with 4:56 but 0-60 It would scare you. Trans go stage 3 sift kit it would smoke the tires on a rolling launch when it hit second. Man I miss that truck. 8 mpg but fun as hell.

My next truck will be a tundra....my uncle has one really like them. Biggest backseat in a crew cab hands down.

After having "the last straw" with diesels when my Chevy Duramax did the "reduced engine power" thing, only to start the "water in fuel" thing a week later, then get it out the shop after dropping the fuel tank and finding no water at all, only to have the "reduced engine power" thing again - I was done!
I went to a Dodge with Hemi and loved it, but found it liked the gas pump (because of my driving habits) only to have the rear end lock up with 80K miles. After fighting Dodge over warranty issues and $8k in repair bills, which they finally covered, I traded it on the Ford F-150 Ecoboost. I only wish I read the fine print on fuel mileage. Again, with my driving habits, I average 16mpg all the time, but cover mostly highway miles. Nice truck, rides great, but I was sure dreamin of 20mpg. Not sure what the next one will be. I may go with a Ford with V-8. |
