Thinking about trying the 65lb pp. Not into horsing in a fish but its larger diameter will fill the reel faster. I will still have 300 yards or so per reel. I like to set my drag just heavy enough to get the job done. Once I have a fish on time is on my side at that point. No use rushing and risking pulling the hook out.IMO. Everyone has there own style and if it works for ya then good for you. John

I used to catfish in red river a lot back when braid was the new rage. Seen guys runnin 100 lb and higher. At that point they locked their drag down tight. Didnt need it anymore. Right? Seen lots of good cats lost because uooks pulled out or were straightened. Heavy braid was workin great for this one guy until he got hung up. He was a little guy and couldnt break it. He finally wrapped it around a stick right at the end of his rod and jerked the hell out of it. Yep the line broke and so did the end of his rod.

65 is too big unless all you will be using it for is fishing bottom rigs for large fish. If you plan on chunking and winding artificial I would not go bigger than 50. I have 40lb on one of my baitcasters and it works good for redfish and flounder.

Fishing on the bottom in the surf for bull reds or whatever else picks up the bait. Caught a 3" bull shark last trip. I know thats not big but it was my first one. Would like to try some flounder fishing and will go with a lighter setup for them.

All I use is 15lb
