Killed my limit this morning at Rutherford beach despite the major rain event last night, seen quite a few birds. When I was leaving around 9 a.m. seen several good flights of high birds coming from the north...

Had a few friends kill 42 (7 Hunters)opening morning in Buras, then went back with more friends Sunday to take 61 more! Looks like the flight pattern is off to the East. I hunted Rice in Crowley/Estherwood and didn't pull the trigger.

The front on Friday definitely pushed in some more birds. We've limited out every morning since Friday. We're also seeing more birds working the robos and the spinner, not just pass shooting. We hunt near Lacassine Bayou.

Finaly saw some Teal flying over the Port of Vermilion today while drinking coffee in front of the office. Maybe this last weekend of teal season will be better than the other weekends

I didn't go today but 3 people hunted my blind. They said it slowed down. Took till 720 to kill 18

MarshRat89 09-25-2013 09:47 AM

Hopefully Saturday will turn out good since it's going to be the last day I get to hunt till NOV 9th. Since I have to work Sunday. Gotta love the oilfield !!!

4 hunters killed 4.

Pair nearly decapitated me and I killed one. 4 came in and we killed 2.

A single came zinging in from behind us. Felt the shot breathe on my neck as someone folded him....The momentum of the bird brought him about 10 foot from my buddy.

We had a big flock working but they didn't do it. Someone must have been wearing soul glo because they definitely smelt/saw something.

Morse/midland area

I am not hunting but saw a big flock of about 40-50 this am driving to work. Saw them as I was coming to the stop light at Carmel drive coming from Lake Martin road. They were headed West..

I swear every time I wear OFF the birds flare...dunno what it is but I just deal with the skeeters now. Hunted with a buddy and felt like we were double jinxed. Sprayed off and left decoys overnight....I never do that. We only killed 4 that day, they all flared.

I promise ya it's not the off. Don't put yourself through that buy a thermocell. I don't take a chance for sure with all the reported west nile cases.

If im hunting my blind off the marsh rd I wear off, but hunting my blinds actually in the marsh I don't have a real big issue. Those thermocells work good?
