Built this one last year.

Wow nice blond I bet that was a beast to grass up.

We built a 16' X 3' platform blind this year, 2ft for the dog,2ft to step off boat with tennis shoes and 12 to hunt in.

So far we have sunk about 12 bales of hay, and transplanted a lot of grass.

We built the blind on the edge of marsh, front has good vegetation but the back was trampled in the building process.

Sooo had the bright idear to build a "raised bed" for the Salt Meadow Marsh Grass behind the blind about 2ft off the ground to help break up the blind and give us 2 levels of grass.

We built the frame for the "raised bed" then layed down grated fiberglass.
Then we laid burlap on top grated fiberglass and used 2"X6" for the outside frame to hold the vegetation.

After the frame was built I spread out a block of peat moss, wet hay and mud on the burlap before we transplanted the grass.

The goal is to grass this blind once and hopefully the grass will take root and grow.

All that being said I will prob never build a platform blind again, its good for the kids and comfortable but it's a mother #### to grass.

I will try to post some pics later.

Made another trip to the duck marsh Friday. Put some more work into blind. All it needs now is brush and it'll be ready to hunt!

We did too. Put another barrel blind in and tore an old one out. Blew a bearing on the trailer on the way home. Now gotta add another chore to the list for work needing to be done tomorrow. Outer bearing is gone. Luckily the tire and hub stayed on. Hope axle is ok and not galled too badly. We will see in the morning.

How do you get to the blind? Does someone drop you off and pick you up?

I have a pirogue on an island about 75 yds away. I drop off hunters and pirogue back. Hide pirogue behind blind. Beats having to build and brush a big ole boat blind!
