I don't see it as a bother that they aren't registered, but their input about areas that I may not know may help my day not only better, but maybe safer while I am on the water. Such as, if there is a very high tide on Calcasieu Lake and you are unfamilier with it, you could run on top of the old jetties if you was not warned of it. Wooden post at water level on the north end. Also on this site we have the opportunity to fish with one another and get to know each other and become friends. So if I see a friend broke down on the waterway, do you think I will just go past him as most people do now? So yes, I would like to see more sign onto SC and I hope to meet them. My life and theirs may depend on it. I am signed up on the other site also, I have never seen the comrodery from fisherman to fisherman as here. All you have to do is read some of the threads of members with illnesses in their families. Look at all the responces of prayers being sent for one another. That's real cool. I could go on and on but then it would be a novel, and I think you get the picture.

But this is the best place on the internet for SW La. hunting and fishing.
All the other forums are about SE La.

When they read this thread they might be gone for good.

Somedays I check it out and stay for a while. Others, If dont see anything interesting, like, lets try to get money out of everybody, my stay is very short that day. If you want to charge everyone, you will limit yourself to a very small group of people who are willing to pay. Number 1 is a relative term relating only to what others think of you. If you limit the "others" only to those willing to pay, the lofty status, self proclaimed or otherwise has a very short lived, radiant burst across the sky as it burns out.
It is much better to sustain an even, planned, and manageable growth. Become good at what you do. Otherwise, you lose control, crash and burn.

I log in so I can see the post since I last looked.
I don't have to look thru all of them to figure out
what is new and what I already looked at.

That sort of information is most important to all I believe from a safety standpoint. What wooden post? At Big Lake I'm assuming?

Another Example: Someone complained about running over the marked reefs in Big Lake that are good for drifting over. I never knew about this and still don't know much other than to keep an eye for a white PVC pipe. This past summer with my kids. I'd seen an iron pipe south of the steam engine on the way to the old jetties cutoff right at the top of the water level on a low tide. Had to swerve to miss it. Where does SC collect the information on these obstructions and mystery poles? What are all of the stakes just south of the old jetties anyway? Where can I find that info?

I'm kinda like elebouef, I am a member but I don't always log on unless I feel that I have something positive to contribute. I learned a lot about oystering yesterday. If this weather lets up I may have a positive fishing report to contribute. Maybe duck hunting will give me something to post. I'm learning about forums and posting options.

Post it up! It doesn't matter guys and gals...we enjoy these contributions because each of us have an affinity for the outdoors, a general willingness to help others, and utilize reports, stories, jokes, etc to escape from the daily grind!!! So either way, if your reading or your posting your important to this website.

It would be a good idea to put up gps coordinates along with a description on obstructions that could damage a lower unit throughout the lake.

There will never be a functional limit for those who don't sign up/sign in. However, those who do sign up get extra perks. Those who help support the site get more perks. But there will be no limits of basic functionality to those who don't sign up, ever, as long as I am an owner here.
