Very cool - sounds like the trip of a lifetime! I've been to Banff and RMNP and you are right, pictures really don't do it justice.

Did you make it to Lake Louise and Jasper area in Canada? Very pretty water falls and some elk and Grisly bears.

That's beautiful country! the wife and I took a trip up to Wyoming last year and camped in and around Yellowstone. Leaving Friday morning to do it again with the kids this time. Taking 3 days to get up there, camping/hiking for 4 days and taking 4 days to get back. Gonna be great!

You absolutely must do this. And if you have a day, and like good beer, stop by and see Mr. Grumpypants. He brews his own beer at a little dive in Ouray, and is the only employee. And he's just a snarky, funny dude. My wife and I did that route last year. Heading to Nova Scotia and PEI this year. Can't wait!

Yep, made it there. Didn't see any grizzlies or wolves on the trip, but did see plenty of Elk, moose, black bear, bison, pronghorn, sheep, and deer.
