I've used trackers in the past and have helped friends when they have lost a trail, but we ALWAYS gave the dog owners, even if they were friends money for the feed bill. And if the deer was found a bonus would be given to help feed the dog/dogs. It is good to have someone to call on when these things happen, it is better knowing you have someone to call when it happens. I don't know if these guy's will get the kindness you showed them if they call next week.

That's very disrespectful of them to not offer anything!!! It's just the thought and the offer that counts. O and a SC hunt would be AWESOME!!! You can definately count me in for that!

Next week, next month or next year they should be disregarded just like they disregarded Fins generosity to help them in a time of need....call someone else..........

It is frustrating and everyone can relate for sure. Even if I know someone will not take money, beer, whatever....I will always offer something. Hope he doesnt need your help in the future.

takes an ungrateful SOB.. like u said FFF... thats sorry !!!

I have a feeling if they offered money you would have refused it. I always offer anyway in times like that.

But first of all, it IS our responsibility as hunters to take a clean, high percentage shot. Now i'm not saying I haven't lost deer, if you haven't, you just haven't hunted them long enough.

Personally, and this is just me, unless it was a nice buck I would not call a stranger for dogs.

Well, this guy was from Lafayette, not Krotz Springs. I have several friends from that area and they would have had supper waiting w/ a cold beverage by the time we got out the woods. I can laugh about it now, but when we track a deer at our lease, someone is always staying back to make sure plates are ready when we return.
