Pin fish are used a lot in Fla. for fishing offshore.
Every dock has a pin fish trap tied to it on Perdido Key.

Good Read

I have not fished many weekends but my job has recently forced me to only fish on weekends. And yesterday was un-real, chaz "pressure" is an understatement. I was sickened at the number of boats bank fishing. Felt like I was in Toledo.. I am done on the weekends bout to either quit my job or quit fishing, haha because I can't take another day like yesterday. We waded one area day and counted 20 boats trying to come in to make that drift on top of us, unreal!

By the way Calcasieu still has the HOGS!!!

Spotted Sea Trout:
1st choice - Louisiana
2nd choice - Florida

Also

Red Drum:
1st choice - Louisiana
2nd choice - Florida
"Redfish action in Louisiana should be excellent this month as temperatures moderate and the fish begin to move. Actually, the entire Gulf Coast should have good redfish action, as will waters on the Indian River lagoon along Florida's east coast, where you'll find big fish and big schools."

Maybe some of you will now realize the intense pressure this estuary faces year round, not just from locals, but from many traveling fisherman as well. Just look at the recent activity of this board. You've got a post from FL & TX fisherman as an example. We are lucky to have world class fishing in our "backyard." Lets do a good job of taking care of it for ourselves and future generations!

Ya Drost's Cove(aka joe's cove) was full up. I think more fish were stepped on than caught. The good thing is so many people going in there are less people in the lake.
