Does your uncle happen to live in Roberts Cove? Cause I got a customer that his house is crazy inside just like that.

IMO nothing looks better than a skin mount. As a taxidermist I've never attempted a saltwater fish because I don't want to screw it up (saltwater fish have different skin oils than freshwater), but the best way to keep small game animals is in panty-hose. Fish, birds, squirrels...that sorta stuff. just put them in the panty-hose as soon as you can THEN wrap it with a damp towel and freeze. The panty-hose will keep everything in place much better than a damp towel alone.

The trout in my sig pic, weighed 8lbs....Now i kept that fish and got it mounted because I figured no way would I cach another fish like that in my lifetime. Now, looking back I wish I would have let that fish go and got a replica made, but too late now, but if that does happen again I hope I'll make the right decision!!

I don't necessarily think that you made the wrong decision. Trout like that don't make an appearance every day. I killed a bunch of 'em before I realized that the memories last alot longer than the mounts. Nice fish, BTW.

No pics, didnt happen.............I messin with ya salty.........but really, wheres the pics??

I'll NEVER catch one like that, so I dont worry bout it much..........when I went on that charter in FLA, I was going to mount the trout I was after, but He told me a 12lb wasnt out of the question..............THAT would be a mount!!!

The only pics I got were taken with a cardboard camera. Couldn't even spell dijitul back then.

Imo replicas look way to fake. I got a couple of big ones mounted that look way better than any replica that I have ever seen. I dont keep big fish anymore but I have no problem with someone keeping one to mount. Honestly trout rarly grow over 30inchs, so if you catch one that fish willl be probably dead in a year or two anyway
