BASS hands down.....Bass is a bigger sport fish world wide and would generate soooooo much publicity and money with endorsements it would be Crazy.
Not to mention a harder fish to catch at that size.

where are you going with this? I've fished 10 x the amount on toledo and rayburn in my lifetime and my biggest fish is 5.9lbs...up to 5 years ago...started focusing on big trout and i've caught over 20 fish bigger than 5.9lbs with a couple touching and going over 8lbs. "To me" bass fishing is the harder of the 2! And if trout weren't part of the (literally) "weakfish" family....then i could guarantee you there would be no redfish cup...it'd be a speck cup!

Im saying Bass fishing is way more of a challenge than trout fishing by far!!!....I grew up bass fishing...Bass fished my whole life from the marsh to big lakes.... Biggest Bass i ever landed was over 6lb in the pool back in 1995 or 96.....

I have a trout over 8 and numerous over 6 and 7lbs....Big trout are not hard to catch.... Big Bass are..

Its all in where you fish too... like I said earlier the first time i ever went fishing exclusively for bass was in 2005. In may of 2007 i caught a 9lb 8oz bass... I know of at least 8 people that have caught bass over 9 out of that lake and two that have caught 12's. Big lake is a great big trout estuary and so I think you guys are spoiled having grown up fishing there.

8 lb. bass are more common than 8 lb. trout simply because there are probably 10,000 x more people fishin' for 'em.

Trout!!! 11.26 will do.
P.S. You can catch bass in a pond.

Hopedale Hustler 03-02-2011 05:49 AM

Go fish grand isle or cocodrie or lafite or dularge or point aux chene and see how easy it is to catch big trout....it ain't places like big lake and lake p and Breton sound and even cypermort point produce bigger fish and people who get to fish them regularly are kinda lucky..now go fish lake cataouchie for a month straight and see how many 6 and 7 pound fish u pull out as shown on tv last weekend...
