I have one that has been "super tuned" and I swear to ya....that thing will free spool for what seems like 5 minutes.

Salty who super tunes your reels?

I've never found a reel to last me more than a summer in the surf. If you can at all possible keep the waves from crashing into them it helps, but eventually they get gritty, rough, and noisey. I'm not one to use cheeper reels just to surffish, so proffessional sportinggoods has rebuilt their share of reels for me, and have never had academy not take one back do to bearing failure.:smokin:

I like shimano alot, but I am concerned about the quality of the new citica and curado now that they are not made in japan. Only time will tell.....

I had 2 core 50's melt from saltwater. I would advise not to wade with them.

Just stock up on the "E" series Chronarch and Curado and you'll be fine.

SaltyShaw 07-16-2011 12:11 AM

Dont knock em till you try em . . . . maybe the worse thing to happen to them or they might work out just fine, im gonna keep my e series just incase but im gonna give em a shot

donniej 07-19-2011 09:08 PM

Picked up 2 curado 200 e7 at academy in Shreveport this weekend, 149.00 each and paired them up with Falcon Bucoos, cant wait to try them, always like the stradics.
