 1995 17ft Louisiana Traveler
1995 70 Hp Evinrude back is done in pvc material with aluminum bracing. In its hey day I took this boat from Bayou Sorrell landing, up the Atchafalya River, to Morgan City and back up the Intracostal on 11.999999 gallons of gas to break it in. Use to run 38 mph with wind to your back helping you on a light breeze day with no ripples on the water. Now she is old, fat, and slow but still gets the job done. Pic of her at Toledo Bend. Did finally change trollmotor to a Motorguide 12volt digital 54lb trust stainless shaft and how it kicks tail now. http://i48.tinypic.com/4hy2vt.jpg |

My Igloo is right across from the tank, so between them both, I never have to worry about all the weight at the back when I fish alone and never have porpoising problems. Battery is still behind the rear seat. |

Grab rail is so you can stand up and drive and have something to "Grab" on. Looks like a mount for a GPS on there. I can't make out what the 2 things on the side of it are. |

Thanks guys. I run standing up most of the time using a tiller extension and that grab bar. It makes running in chop alot easier on your back and allows you to have a better vantage point for finding clean water, bait etc.
I use a strongarm Etec tiller extension but may end up with a carbon marine version to save weight... http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...ps5a7710f7.jpg On the grab bar I glassed up a little dashboard/console that is what u see in the pic. It has perko navigation lights, trim buttons and fish finder mount, and also I have a cushion that goes on the front and on the cooler for a passenger there. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y25...psb2e25a00.jpg I still need to wire up the fish finder and a few other accessories but I keep putting off the projects so i can just go fish...been doing good without em |

I think you "Bdub" and Hydro have two of the neatest set ups I have seen on a jon boat. I am running a 40 Nissan on a older tunnel but would like to sell and do a combination of yalls boats on about a 18x48 with my motor

This one is specific for the Etec with friction fit around the tiller handle and has a hole for the tilt switch, www.strongarmproducts.com They also make a universal one. http://www.shallowwatersolutions.com/ also makes some good stuff.
Thanks guys, I'm actually in the middle of fighting a trailer wiring issue so I can get out on the water this weekend...too nice out! |

Nice, I almost ordered my boat with a tunnel but I didn't want to have any problems crossing open water in a chop, my boat has a few degrees deadrise at the transom
