Heard a report today, a lot of fresh water coming down the calcasieu. Said it would probably push everything down to turners bay until we get some calm weather. Topwater baits down there should get you on some fish.

Figured I'd give you the update since it's getting close to when you're going.

Salt's content's up. This station is South side of Turner; Midlake, West of Hebert's; Midlake, East of Texaco/Spicers. 14 Parts per thousand on 3/29/2014.

When the salinity at Hackberry goes too low, we fish further south. Depends on what you are chasing, but we've never done well on anything below 10 ppt. We catch a potpourri, and high salinity keeps everything on the menu. Turner's is usually a bit fresher than Hackberry, and it gets saltier as you go south. Rising tides bring saltier water. Falling tides bring fresher water.
