The fittings in the pics are 1-12"(too big). These pictures show all the parts. I used 14awg wire to solder the lights to. Drill 2 holes in threaded plug and run them thru about an inch. Then I used black rtv to seal the holes for the wires. Remember, LED's are polarity sensitive. Test and mark each bulb before you solder. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk |

How do you test to see positive and neg side?
|
Just hook a wire to the positive of the battery and a wire to the negative. Then take the other ends and touch to the light. If it lights, mark the side of the light that your positive was touched to. If it doesn't light swap them until it lights and marked the positive side. Doesn't hurt if you hook it backwards while testing. It just won't light. Make sense?

Got pos and neg figured out. Did you hook up both bright and dim sides? Looks like you did both. Guess I'll do the same
|
Yes.

Works great. Thanks for all the info. Will try it at the bend Sunday night.

Let me know how you do

Would yo happen to know how much weight it took to get light down to about 6'. Guessing that would be the right dept.
|
Going to be a trial and error thing. Clear vs dirty vs salt is all going to have an effect on buoyancy. Best thing is to tie a float the desired height above the light and put your weight on the light.

does it mater if you sink them, or would they work just as good if it is floating? saltwater fishing of course
|
I would think sinking just below surface would be best. While these lights are pretty bright, the surface of the water would reflect much of the light.

That thing is bright!

Be glad to put them in salt water and see how they do.

even sitting vertical on the bottom the light cant spread out in a circular pattern because once again the bottom stops it. it depends on the water depth but from just below the surface to the top 1/3 third of the water column would seam to be the best position |
Just completed my battery test (kinda). Kept my light connected for 14 hours straight. Disconnected at 9:00pm. So I should get at least 7 hours with 2 lights which should be more than enough.
