I don't see many people leasing a marsh blind for 15k

One of the $30k leases in West Hackberry has crawfish income to other is just hunting.

That 55k lease has a separate commercial crab lease. 55k just for the recreational rights.

You know that Waylon Jennings song "Outlaw ****" that's how I feel about duck lease prices.

Guys with more money than sense paying these amounts!! I guess it's the 'chic' thing to tell your rich buddies you have a duck lease? That and all the 'outfitters' leasing up everythhing they can get their hands on. Good luck..

No, but it helps my butt-hurtness a little to b**ch about it.

Go to Mexico and shoot a seasons worth of meat in one trip. Then go to Canada for some mounts. All without having to throw a single rock.

You are correct. I haven't been to Mexico yet but a hunting buddy went and it was crazy how the duck hunting is.

From my experience you can't make that kind of money back as an outfitter unless you have a well established wealthy clientele. With duck hunts going for $250 - $300 per gun except for the most elite places you have to book lots of hunts just to break even. That doesnt count the costs of boats and mud motors, installing blinds, and buying decoys.

I'm glad I don't have to meet that investment hurdle...

Yes your absolutely correct; you would starve trying to make money guiding on some of these leases. The days of the guide services driving lease prices are gone. Companies have a large impact now; paying top dollar for leases and the cost is wrote off as entertainment expenses.

Depending on the profitability of the business and the relationships with their customers; entertainment expenses can become priceless. Meaning there is a return on their investment; 55k is prob a drop in the bucket.

This would be correct...

I have been to Grand View Lodge a time or two. Any lodge that has an ATM and a helipad can probably make some big business deals that would make 55k look like a drop in the bucket.
