fishinpox 03-16-2010 06:45 PM

lake p is hard fishing in sept/oct. gi is more family friendly and gives more options to fish ( marsh and open water and hell even roadside for those who dont got a boat) i think it should be in grand isle and you can trailer your boat to surrounding water ie fourchon leeville ect... it will attract more people this way which meens more money for the charity.. regardless of where it is held you can count me in!!

simplepeddler 03-16-2010 06:50 PM

that is great

Hands down, it would be GI because of the atmosphere of the island. It would also beat sleeping in your boat with a riot gun in order to keep it in any parking lot around the big sleezy. Be a Biotch totin all those 225's into the room for safe keeping.

SWEET I like Grand Isle!!!!

Ray 03-16-2010 08:11 PM

There is a hotel/camp/RV park right next to the Gulf Stream launch.
Nothing fancy, and they have a dock to keep the boat in the water.
Gulf Stream has docks you can keep the boat in the water also.

longsidelandry 03-16-2010 08:13 PM

We stayed at one of the camps down Tiger Lane across Hwy 1 from Elmer's Island for the 4th of July last year and it was nice. All the camps there are on the water and you can leave the boat in front of the camp.

Dink 03-16-2010 08:16 PM

Wife kids and I are in.....

There is also no way to be able to make everyone happy.
Everyone has different plans. We just gotta do what makes the most happy.

They'll steal you blind in G.I. too! I've seen more rods & tackle stolen from G.I., Some guy had his rudder stolen off his sailboat while it was anchored 50 yards off the beach!:shaking: Cops found it stashed in a tent on the beach & caught the guy. Lake P or G.I. LOCK UP YOUR STUFF!

I ALWAYS take everything valuable out of the boat that can be taken out no matter where I'm at.

Line up a venue get sponsors and coordinate it all. Good luck and let us know when n where

"H" 03-17-2010 07:28 AM

just another "brain fart" - I suggested we move it back into Oct. to let the weather cool off, fishing improve, & get passed Hurricane season. Well I knew the hunters wouldn't embrace that idea.
Having said that, here is something else to ponder.
As Speckdaddy said, these events to take a lot of work, planning, and sponsorship.
Maybe we just want one "official" SC Tourney a year and alternate them between Big Lake & GI.
Just another Idea (don't bash me).

As I stated in previous posts, I would love to help, but I have no idea about how to line this sort of stuff up.
