Seat Belt could of saved my cousin from a broken hip, collar, ribs, and leg if he was wearing it, he ended up being handicap for about a year after his friend swerved to miss a goat in the road and then hit a culvert and flipped 5 times, he got all the broken bones and his friend had some compressed vertebrae.

TDaigle 04-28-2010 09:19 PM

Dont worry Obama has a plan for people who end up in a coma. Pull the plug!! Good nite W

but on another note, you got lucky once on going through the windshield, prolly won't happen again. Seat belt wearing is a no brainer. I have seen it personally way too many times. A simple lil wreck turns into a life threatening ordeal because they weren't wearing a seatbelt. A local wreck a few years back, an suv just had a simple rollover and the guy would've been fine but instead he's 6 feet under right now cuz he went out the window and the vehicle rolled on top of him.

Come on W, you ain't in high school no more. There's more to you that makes you the cool kid in town than not wearing your seatbelt.
And for all you high schoolers out there, that doesn't make you the cool kid anymore. That was back in the day when smoking was cool.(no offense to any of you smokers, its just not cool to smoke anymore like it was 20 years ago)

ummmmm
you dont know him do you

haha

I served as a paramedic with B.R.F.D for 4 years and I never saw anyone that survived an accident because they were thrown from the vehicle. That's fuzzy math...

southern151 04-28-2010 09:32 PM

I can almost hear the midget now! "I pay more in taxes than you make per year and, it's my taxes that your dumb ...!"

It's a wonder you ONLY work for NASA...You should have been a brain surgeon!

BMTAngler 04-28-2010 09:36 PM

I got one of them last summer,I was running late to the job site and he had someone pulled over already so I thought I was safe.
Made it all the way into the job site, got outa my truck then he pulls up and proceeds to write the ticket....what a D BAG!

Shad, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. Our advice falls on 'deaf ears'. Besides they say when it comes to advice,"A wise man don't need it, and a fool don't heed it! " Good nite cyber sporstmen...

W, I got a good friend that's a Louisiana state senator. If ya want....I'll see if I can get your seat belt violation lowered to criminal operation of a motor vehicle. Just let me know.

so im a fool. we are not talking about advice. advice is your choice whether or not you chose to trust the person that tells you. we are talking about a law that forces you to do something that affects only you and no one else.

Didn't you say that already?

Big Lake Blondie 04-28-2010 10:23 PM

I think it is a personal decision to wear or not to wear a seat belt...I know for a fact that my sister in law and nephew would have both died if they would have had their seatbelts on at the time of their accident...do all accidents happen this way? No...But me putting my seatbelt on or not isn't going to dictate what will happen to you in your vehicle should we happen to hit head on...I personally choose to wear mine, but I don't agree that we should be forced...But this is ObamaNation...No one cares what we think...:shaking:

BossHog 04-28-2010 10:29 PM

Yeah I dont like the fact they tell us we have to wear a seatbelt but shadman did have a good point. I use to never wear mine either but learned the hardway. Turned to miss a cow one night and hit the ditch, should have walked away with nothing if the seatbelt was on instead I crushed my face thru the steeringwheel and dash and had numerous surgerys, so i learned my lesson

This is not true. Have you ever seen the video that shows what can happen when 1 person in the back seat of a car involved in a wreck can do to the others in the same vehicle when he isn't wearing a seatbelt? I'll see if I can find the video.

Found it...

YouTube- Rear Passenger Seatbelt

Zachary Boy 04-29-2010 08:06 AM

Dang, that dude became a "projectile". I guess that's why they tell you to keep you bowling ball in the trunk instead of the back seat of your car...

As does EVERYTHING in a vehicle when it's not restrained. It doesn't bother me when people don't wear their seatbelts but why wouldn't you? I understand the points of "it's my right if I want to wear it or not"...true, it is your right but is it right to your family when you get killed because you got thrown through your windshield into a telephone post?

FF_T_Warren 04-29-2010 08:13 AM

You know why you don't have the choice and it's a law, It's because some people are too stupid for their own good so the government has to babysit them:work:

FF_T_Warren 04-29-2010 08:14 AM

as is the case with many other crazy laws

flyphisher 04-29-2010 08:18 AM

Just wear your seat belt. If I hadn't been wearing mine on 9/29/2003, I wouldn't be here today. 'nuff said.

I'm a 'believer'. In 1984, I flipped a Bronco 3 times and walked away with a broken collar bone and a few scratches...

adamsfence 04-29-2010 08:33 AM

i give up yall win. i know im on the wrong side of this arguement. and i do wear my seat belt most of the time. just don't like the fact that it is forced. and really makes me mad that our goverment spends so much on trying to enforce this law and there is so many more things the police should be worried about.

I agree with you that it shouldn't be forced. Just like I don't think it should be forced for people to wear helmets when riding a motorcycle.

RAKEDLAKE 04-29-2010 08:42 AM

From what i saw when you and your better half blew by me and A.S.R. you lucky they haven't clipped you for a speeding. In and around Jennings I can't ever recall seeing so many COPS. State and Parish, they are thick. So you need to take care with your NEED FOR SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

whunter29 04-29-2010 09:12 AM

I don't have to think seat belts save lives, I am living proof. Back in 95 I had just turned 18 when I wrecked getting on the interstate. I put the hood threw the passenger side seat on my truck when I rear ended some dumb*** that had stopped in the acceleration lane. I walked away from a wreck that i know would have ejected me if I wasn't wearing my seat belt. So I wear mine every time I get in my vehicle.
