Just wanted to let everyone know that Wyatt has been struggling a bit with his lungs. The doctors have started him on steroids to try and help him through this downturn. I don't have a lot of information at this point but I'll keep everyone posted as this latest development plays out.

Sorry it's been a while but had some fishing trips come up and had to make some cash. Wyatt is responding really nicely to the steroids and has been improving daily. He is still gaining weight really nicely and yesterday hit the 4 pound 1 ounce mark! If he continues to gain weight like this they are talking about trying him in an open crib. I'd say overall that Wyatt is doing well and hopefully continues this upswing through the time till he comes home.

Glad to hear it Lucas! I'm also glad you are getting to "get away" from time to time to make some money and have some fun. I hope Mom is getting to do the same.
God Bless.

That's awesome!! We finally getting to take ours home today after 9 days in NICU. I don't know how you and your wife done it this long. It's like leaving him for the first time everytime..... Y'all seem like really great people and the man up above can see that. Wyatt will be home in no time!

Well the doctors tried Wyatt on the next level of breathing assistance but he couldn't handle it. I think they didn't give him long enough to make the adjustment but I'm not a doctor. I'm hoping that with a few days back on the vapotherm they will try again. Wyatt continues to gain weight and he is now 4 pounds 3 ounces! Overall we are still good.

Wyatt accomplished one of the three things he has to do in order to go home. Wyatt's weight allowed the doctors to try him in an open crib. He has to be able to maintain his own body temp and Wyatt passed with flying colors so we are really pleased. It was nice to be able to stand next to him without the restriction of the incubator. It's a good feeling knowing that Wyatt is that much closer to going home. Oh and he was 4 pounds 5 ounces tonight!
