hi there..first time caller, long time listener. Here's my little redfish wrangler. She will finally get a trip out to marsh tomorrow after a month of miserable weather kept her off the water.

You ever visit Microskiff.com, that site will make you wanna throw everything out of your garage and turn it into a boat production facility. They have some very nice builds.

Thanks, it's been a great boat. It's a Bossman Karma which is a splashed Hells Bay Gladeskiff (with sponsons added). She's 18'10" and really light. The aluminum gas tank is up front so the weight is distributed nicely. The hull is rated for a 30hp engine and the 25hp yamaha pushes it to 31mph light/solo and 28mph with gear/crew, which is fast enough for me...only sucks when making really long runs. I added a CMC Tilt/Trim which acts like a fixed jack plate too by raising the motor a few inches, but also allowing the motor to trim out. Now, I can run skinnier and there is no pull on the tiller arm. The prop is a power tech SRA 3 blade 12 pitch which has some cupping.

Jpharr 01-25-2015 10:35 AM

Marty, prob start of March. Feb is going to be tough bc I've got two weekends of call and we have a guy out for a week. Got a chance to run it yesterday. Was very impressed with it. Just need to put the Talon on and she's ready to go. When are you heading down?

Sweet lookin Rig Rusty! still breaking her in huh? whats she running so far?

rustyb 01-26-2015 08:48 AM

First trip on friday almost no load. Ran her from the shop after being rigged. Prop testing with only 12 gallons of fuel and got 62mph.
On saturday fully fueled and light loaded got 60. Still have to put ipilot and batteries which go up front. So all said and done we gonna fall near 58-60 as i get it all worked out. Sportsman Fab in morgan city is great guy to work with.

BassYakR 01-26-2015 09:02 AM
