It has been a couple of days since my last update and for that I apologize. Wyatt was administered another round of steroids in order to help his lungs out. This round seems to be working a whole lot better than the last one. Wyatt is already being tried on the lower form of breath support and is only 4 days into the 5 day treatment. This is better than last time when he didn't get tried at all. He continues to put on weight and is now 5 pounds 6.8 ounces. I feel good about this run of steroids and I hope he takes off from here.

really though, just lot's of prayers.
Wyatt humbles me when I see this thread every time.
I can say without doubt that he has changed each of us already.

Wyatt's timing is the Lord's timing..........all will be well little big man!

I am not emotionally strong enough to even imagine what you and your wife are going through.

I can tell you, that if a dinner for you two or a home cleaning or a night out or whatever can help, my bride and I are there.

Wyatt is still on the high-flow cannula as of this morning. The high flow cannula is basically what one would be put on if they needed oxygen at the hospital. That makes 36 hours he has been on it and is still doing good. I am just hoping that after he gets off the steroids he is able to maintain. If he can stay on the high-flow he will be able to start eating from a bottle instead of a stomach tube. The bottle feeding is the last thing he needs to do in order to go home. We still have a lengthy road but there is almost a house at the end of the road.....Our House!

Don't loose Hope

It looks like your little guy is comming along. My Daughter had issues at birth and I know how hard it can be. We had to relocated to different hospitals 3 times and finnally ended up in Philidelphia. I remember towards the end of our stay in Phili felt like the longest part of the whole deal. Getting close to going home is exciting and every little set back would just break us. My advice is be patient and take it a day at a time, I hope you guys get home soon.
Prayer sent from my Family to yours

Way to go Wyatt!!!

Nasal Cannula oxygen is the lowest form of oxygen delivery and is a huge step. Next is no supplemental oxygen at all!!!! Ya'll must be pumped up and on edge waiting for that!!!! Good Luck, still praying!!!

Where do I begin? Ok so, yesterday Jamie calls me and tells me that the entire time we thought Wyatt was on 80% oxygen he was really on 40% because of a calibration error with the high-flow cannula he was on. Needless to say I was happy and pissed all at the same time. I am ecstatic that he is doing so much better than we thought but anytime there is an error on the part of the hospital it scares the crap out of me. Anyway, after the doctors discovered the error they decided to try bottle feeding Wyatt one time a day. Wyatt didn't do great on his first attempt but that is to be expected. The other thing that happened is that Wyatt was moved to a low-flow cannula and that is basically like breathing room air. In fact, from here they just pull the cannula out and try him at room air for little increments of time. I can't express how elated Jamie and I are that Wyatt is progressing so quickly. I mean with this latest development we could be going home way sooner than we thought a week ago!!!!!
