Also I'm not trying to bash you W but you are in no way ready for that level of fishing. Fish the XRT, LSWS and IFA redfish tournaments a few years then try to step up. The rules for the HT CUP are also very hard on information sharing. Pretty much its on you and your partner to prefish and get on them. If you talk redfish with anyone other than your partner a week before the tournament you have to DQ yourself.

Lol yall don't realize that half of them people really have no clue...just got money and wanna act like their some kind of pro

...Not ready??????? Lets see....Josh J and I have total 40 years of saltwater knowledge......... I did not give Jsmoke and his partner a chance in hell to compete...... They are in top 10 both events..(And both started Saltwater fiishing less than 6 years ago and Competing in Redfish events only 2 years exp) Nick and Lee??? Both have no prior red fish tournament experience outside of Big Lake????

And where and how do you know if Im ready???? R U for real?? You might not be ready or capable but if you look at the class right now Im well ready for this series.....

If we make the cut in Oct.....We should have no problem locking in our sponsors and instead of me chasing trout on days off...Josh and I will be pre fishing in areas of event

You couldn't even finish in the $ in the LASS on your home turf, what makes you think you can just fish anywhere and do well against the "Pros"

Confidence is a good thing, but to much is a horrible trait. Those guys in the HT are for real. The spot on the trail wasn't just given to them. They earned it!

Pole_benda 05-08-2011 10:52 PM

@Team XXL, not trying to step on your toes or anything but the Invitational was given to those that fished with Pat last year. So in a way it was given. Is the cream of the crop out there fishing the Invitational? No. But over half the field in the Invitational is awesome anglers and proven in other tours that they belong.

I do agree with you, you just don't jump in the ring with Ali, you must work your way up. And that's why I know I am not ready and still have a lot to learn. It's the reason why I am open to fishing with new people so I learn from them. I ain't too proud to say I don't know everything about redfishing and want to learn more.

So who wants to go fishing with me and teach me something new?

Sounds good to me! Why dont you fish Lss event? Give you some good practice for the IFA :) im hoping to get down tuesday to look around. That river is gonna be angry!

Pole_benda 05-09-2011 12:57 AM

I already planned my leave around the IFA events. Being in the Air Force it just makes it a little harder to fish all the tournaments because I would burn all my leave. I like to put time on the water and feel confident that I will be competitive and just not donate money to the pot. Thus part of the reason why I am not fishing with my buddy for the HT Invitational.

I setup all my vacation around the XRT events this year to get some experience on the Texas coast. A week of prefishing per event. I plan to fish events on the east side of Louisiana next year. All I can think when I look at the Mississippi delta is "*** were do I start".

Again Who is Pros???????? I see maybe 2 or 3 that can even be called a PRO in the HT??? Some of the guys fishing now I fish around all year....

Home Waters??? They had 3 HT teams from Home waters this weekend and did not win the event!! So home waters does not mean crap

I have done better in other tournaments away from Homewaters
2nd
4th
4th
6th

evis102 05-09-2011 07:31 AM

The team that won ran 160+ miles one way every day. They fished the same water that produced the fish for there 1st win this year.
2nd, 3rd and 4th fish for Team Triton. Erik Rue fishes for Team Triton. I'm sure Rue shared information, within the rules, with his teammates. Also Poe got 6th. So in the top 6 4 were home water teams. I would say home waters make a difference.
