On Fri., we must have seen 30 or more guide boats from the Big Lake area.
Few passed us on the way to Johnson Bayou. Few went offshore.
The rest started at the first set of rocks and strung out to the West.

2500 Stratic CI4 loaded with 12 lb. mono. and 1/4 oz. jig head.
If I cast it too hard, I could sling every inch of line off the reel.
Scary to see just the knot on the bottom of the reel. If'n a big
un got me at that point, no mo line on that reel.

specktator 08-27-2011 12:27 PM

Heard it wasn't too good this morning on the beach.

Put you some 10lb braid on there and solve that problem. ;)

Yeh that wind kicked out the south yesterday afternoon and stayed pretty strong out south all night. And was coming WNW at daylight this morning when I looked. I was gonna go back this morning too but saw forecast. Tried telling some buddies to hold off till Sunday but they were already there yesterday evening. Haven't heard from them yet. I think tomorrow will be good cause wind supposed to come out N all afternoon and N tomorrow morning.

PaulMyers 08-27-2011 02:05 PM

We all going to have a beach revival tomorrow morning? If so, I'm in! :)

specktator 08-27-2011 02:06 PM

Nevermind, just looked at it and it's out the WSW again. Looks like Friday was the day.

Montauk17 08-27-2011 02:12 PM

Me and jedi hit lil fla this am...water was muddy and waves were big...nice sized rollers ccrashing on the rocks..made paddling fun today.

specktator 08-27-2011 03:09 PM

SW @ 11mph right now. Gotta love when the forecast is off that much.

Ray 08-27-2011 03:50 PM

If there are no winds, or N winds all night, morning should be good.
But E, W or S winds, Ray is staying in bed.
Gonna go celebrate the Braquet's having a baby tonight.
May have the brown bottle flu tomorrow morning...
