Maybe you could set up a HUNTING section with:

1. Ducks and Geese

2. Deer

3. Small Game, Hogs and other

I was working on the site to add a few of the suggestions above. Should be ready later tonight...

Hey saltycajun members how do I post a report. I haven't been able to post only reply. Maybe someone could be nice enough to give me step by step directions. I still post on the other site because there setup is easy for me to post on. Maybe I overlooked something on this one but I have never seen where it says click here to post.

go to here http://www.saltycajun.com/forum/index.php which is the forum index

click on the subject you want ex. Inshore Fishing Reports

Click on the button at top left of threads... "New Thread"

put in your information and submit

Ray 09-23-2009 08:21 PM

Post a picture too. We like looking at fishing pictures.

longsidelandry 09-23-2009 08:27 PM

Something elso to think about adding: when we get emails saying someone "has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Input and Suggestions Needed - in the The Camp (Everything Else) forum of Salty Cajun Forums." maybe you could also put what their reply says. I'm on the road alot and it's hard to pull up the internet every time a new reply is posted. It would be alot easier to be able to read the reply in the email on my blackberry then connect to the internet and reply if I want.

Longhorn colors. This yellow and purple theme is terrible. That must be Louisiana Monroes colors.

I used to have it set that way, but I got tired of receiving everyone's replies to thread and PM notification emails in my mailbox because they replied to the notification email instead of logging into the forum to reply. I got to read some pretty interesting conversations when people replied to PM notifications, though. :p

I've added a link on the Navigation Bar at the top for Weather/Tides. Y'all check it out and let me know what you think. It was a pain to set up, but I can add additional locations to the weather data area pretty easily if anyone wants another one added. The radar and tides already have all the possible LA options available.

New Forums

There are a lot of people on here that have good ideas about get togethers and events that we could all participate in. For instance, the other day, Fool suggested a trip to a skeet shooting range in Jennings. I think it would be a good idea for a new forum called "coming events" or something like that so that we can all keep abreast of things that may be developing. We could have trips set up for dove hunts to Texas or elsewhere or maybe lottery hunts up to Tensas or other places.

I'd also like to see a forum for Fishing/Hunting buddies. I hate going by myself all the time and would like to know when other people are going to be off so that we could get together. Not only could we have fun, but we could share expenses and what not. Plus, it's always nice to have someone back the boat in or help with dragging out a deer.

just checked it out. Looks great shadman. Im sure its a lot of hard work, and we appreciate it. Now I dont hafta check out 3 different sites to get what I need. Question, I was checking out the tide page. Is there a menu on there to see the tide on a graph table. I can see it better in graph form, instead of it just telling me what times are the highs and lows. It might be there I just didnt see it. Keep up the good work.:)

For the Upcoming Events, there is a Calendar link on the Navigation Bar at the top of the page. If you click on it and add an event, it will show on the calendar, and also at the bottom of the main forum page under "Upcoming Events for the Next 60 Day(s)".

I'll look into adding your second suggestion. Let me think about how to best go about it.

Unfortunately, I don't think they offer it in any different format, but I agree with you. If someone can find me a good one in chart format, I can add it as well.

jsmoke222000 09-24-2009 12:55 AM

Links to tide charts
Moon schedule
weather conditions
add a function to allow us to embed video from popular sites (youtube, myspace, pornhub, ect)

slick143 09-24-2009 07:21 AM
