Lol... Had it full of beer at the golf tourn., and a 100lbs of iced down shrimp the second time it was used.. Never have gotten more than about a year out of regular coolers...walls seperate, warp, hinges break, inside cracks, etc...

Now I have sealed up some boiled crawfish in some yetis before... Didn't phase them...

Seems they are redoing their website but if you google K2 cooler summit, you will come up with some local dealers and can see pics, specs, etc. Here is the 1st one that came up.

I use a 55qt igloo marine (white), Boat sits in the sun most of the time.
On afternoon trips I'll throw in a bag and a half of ice in it for the fish I may keep. Usually by the next day there is still ice and water in it after sitting all day in the sun. Sometimes I throw an extra bag in otw home to keep the fish extra cool. Lightweight is great for me also. The latches etc are crap but you can upgrade them and still come out for 1/3 of the price of a yeti. I've been abusing the cooler for a year and its held up..

Montauk17 05-20-2013 05:04 PM

I always bought igloo but they never lasted....started using the coleman extreme and they are much better. Hold ice all day on a hot summer day in the boat. I got a 30qt k2 and it is nice but I just can't see spending 3-500 bucks for a bigger one.

Dink 05-20-2013 06:12 PM

Coleman extreme 7 day is comparable to the yeti on holding ice time wise......Hinges, latches, etc, different story.

I xant see buying a cooler for $500 that is too heavy to lift once you put a days xatch in......

"W" 05-20-2013 06:16 PM

All I can say is....this Thread has some ice chest whores!!

Why does one need to set records of how many days you can hold ice??? Just drain and add ice of melts!!!

Is a 500 dollars ice chest going to make you that much happier because u held ice 48 hrs instead of 38???

Ice is cheap

PUREBAY2200 05-20-2013 06:28 PM

Had my yeti since summer 2008.
Never replaced a thing, still looks great & stays cold.
It's been used & abused.
Fell out boat & rolled down interstate , stayed sealed!!

With that many fish any ice chest would be heavy, but I know what you mean. We had 7 dozen crabs in my 110qt yeti a few weeks ago and that thing was heavy!!
