I don't believe I know of a "tackle" store that doesn't sell live bait that opens before 8:00 am.....anywhere.

Since W mentioned that he, along with many others he knows, spends a minimum of $100 when they enter a tackle store.....are you guys that want them to open at 6:00 willing to meet a "$100 minimum" to make it worth those owners' time, effort and overhead? It prolly won't take long to find out how many people really want it.

Honest question: What exactly would be the point of opening at 6:00 or 7:00? If I'm going speckled trout fishing, unless it's in the dead of winter, I'm going to be on the water at first light. Not many days when that's possible when a tackle shop is open even at 6 in Lake Charles.

Im lucky but i have buddies who complain all the time and have to go to Academy because stores are closed when they get off

With just the amount of people I hear complain about stores opening at 9am I promose 7-9 would have more customers than from 9-11

So what's gonna make it better, bigger, brighter, or different than the others?? The people that would frequent these places usually have jobs and are working @ the time these type places are open. Need to find a way to make it more convenient for the supporters. I Like buying local, but if they're not open when it's good for me, Oh well.

I completely agree with "w" and "da cove" on these matters... But i dont wanna waste my time here arguing about it... The local places are open while im at work and closed when im off work... So simple assesment shows that ill be going to academy... If they opened earlier i could stop on my way to work for that afternoon trip... Or if the stayed open till at least 7.. I could go after work for the next mornings trip. Simple as that. Im sure im notbthe only person that the store hrs affect.

I would think you would get more business staying open till 7pm than opening at 7am. Most people are not going to the tackle store before they go to work. And if they are going fishing that morning 7 is too late to open.

Yeah if ur goin fishing in the am then yes 7 isnt early enough... But i could drop in on my way to work... And i would do that.... Nothing worse than goin fishin w half a pack of ur fav bait... Or w only one clown spook... Lol

Not sure about the opening that early but I do agree with staying open later.

But then I am spoiled, got plenty of plastics and lead heads at the house and live about 1/2 mile from Cajun Fast Mart.

Opening a tackle shop at 7 AM sans gas, live bait and food might be the stupidest thing I've ever read on this site. Open until 7 PM might be among those making the most sense.
