Default Cajun Tackle Soft Opening

Cajun Tackle located @ 2640 Country Club Rd in Lake Charles is having their soft opening today. The doors open at 9:00am.

Go by and check them out. Great people and plenty of parking.

gotta agree with you there W.... If your a tackle / bait store you should really be opening before daylight.

As far as i could tell it looked like Calc Point was the only game in town if you needed tackle / bait early.

Touche'

As far as the opening time... I don't think you will find any retail establishments opening like a "Bait shop".

Cajun Fast Mart does it because it's a gas station, CCA Star site, breakfast sandwiches, etc.
And they do ALOT of business from 5am to 7am

I haven't been in the new Cormie's but what time do they open? I know the old store had some bait but not alot... what do they carry now? Maybe you could talk to him and explain how much money Cajun Fast Mart is making.. he could follow their example and start carrying tackle that people actually want to use

I went by, nice store, nice people, really nice duck decoys but I already have about 200 decoys and enough tackle to open my own store.

What kind of tackle do you really need at 5 am or at 7 am?
Cajun fast Mart has a good business early but most of it is gasoline and food.
How much fishing tackle do they sell that early in the morning?
Hard to justify opening a pure tackle shop at 7 am.
They will probably have more business at 7 pm.
I will try to support Cajun tackle as best that I can...
that's a tough business, I hope that they can make a go of it..

If you do good pre-trip planning, you don't have to scramble for a tackle store at 5 am...Unless they serve breakfast as well. BTW, Cormie's sausage, egg, and cheese "bizkit" is as awesome as they say it is!

With the busy schedule I have, on the way to the launch is the only time for me to get some things. Well, maybe not the only time, but I choose to do it then because its just so much easier.

I might drive 1200 miles and work 60-70 hrs that week, get home Friday eve and hook up the boat to blaze straight through the weekend - early tackle is a blessing. I drop a lot of coin at the corner store in Broussard - thanks to them for being open at 0600!!!

1st if im s takcke shop and I want to compete with others and know that the 3rd tackle shop has never really made it

What do I do diffrnet

Academy opens @ 9am

LCT opens @ 9am

Im going to open up at 7 or 730!!

Im a early person along with lots of people who I know and down here at Heberts you know what the #1 complaint is

Can't freaken get nothing till 9 o clock .. most would rather get it early then make way to lake or leave lake and go pick up tackle early

Not have to wait till 9am

Sorry but its a problem and always has been and its why the #3 never makes it because it refuses to do something different.....

I do agree to an extent with what you are saying. Being innovative with my business is what's kept me in business. We did a lot of things different than the groups before us that had failed.

True, but you're not talking about someone that wants 1 pack of their favorite soft plastic for 3.59 @7am. Their overhead is at least 75.00 per hour I would think.

Even with being said

Why pass up LCT or Academy if they all open at 9am

And we will have a soft closing im sure in a year or so!!

Wish them the best of luck but running 9-5 its just another tackle store in shadows of LCT and Academy

Thanks for your opinion.

Maybe you should go talk to Pam about the hours if it's that important to you.

Business owner should open early and bring other employees in at 9, This is what I would do, cut down on overhead for a while just to see how much actual business he can get between 7-9.

Why don't you go make that suggestion to them.
