BK's hull design is still the best out there IMO, copied by countless boat builders. BJ just refined the classic he invented.

Kenner boats went down in quality when Mr. Morris(basspro) bought them out many years ago I think it was in 2003. My dad had an original Kenner with wood in it lasted about 7 or 8 years before floors and transoms became soft, he later used more composite through the later years. I do understand that Bill and his brother the Bayhawk brand started the bay boat type hulls and layouts for inshore fisherman, but his boats have been over praised through the years in my opinion.

The new blazer bay 24' seems like the exact copy of we fished 5 of of bill lakes It was a fishing machine. Very spacious. Road awesome in the gulf. Lacks on storage man those boats are awesome.
Tritons , black jack and blue waves seem great too. Hell my little frontier ain't terrible.

Sorry Guys... I believe the "Bay Runner" By Carolina Skiff is a nice starter boat..

The Older Kenner hulls rolled edge were GOOD... 21' vision; they had tons of hull cracking problems..

I've ridden in 23' Bay Runner.. It's a "nice" starter boat.. With that said.. It's hard to find a Vision in good condition..

I just indicated My opinion.. I know a 24' Yellowfin can't follow me 35 miles offshore.. in 3-4 seas in My 24' Triton LTS...

Haters are going to Hate I Guess. LOL...

Thks

You wont go 35 miles in your triton lts in legit 3-4' seas. I used to own one. Also the yellowfin can go ANYWHERE the triton can. You dont ever wanna have to go anywhere in a BAY boat in real 3-4' seas.

Right here.

But what do I know, that's considered "chop" in most bays around here.

"Keyword" here is legit.

The 2003 kenner is wayyyyyy better than a 2003 bay stealth. That's why it was 13 grand more expensive when they were brand new. Hence why bay stealth and fish masters are bottom of the barrel bay boats....I'm gonna go ahead and get the kenner, it runs about 60 mph and motor only has 90 hrs on it. All work needed is merely cosmetic. Even if I had 60k to blow, I sure as hell wouldn't get a haynie. Shear water or black jack if we talking best available

Nothing wrong with your frontier from the one time I've seen it!

Uncle Barty 03-20-2014 10:55 PM

I'm pretty sure I know the Kenner boat you are talking about. I'm good friends with him and have fishes and ride in the boat a few times. Like that boat and have been in some rough water with it and it did great. I had actually considered buying it but had some personal stuff come up.
