To my surprise, the "cracks" between the concrete slabs have been sealed. It looks like a tar looking product was used.

Now only the parking lot "stripping" remains to be completed.

AND lights I heard.

Yep..... they were finished putting up the last 4 telephone poles when I drove by about noon. There are 11 light poles total. Now they will need to start hanging the lights and running the wiring.

I don't think the parking lot "stripping" has been done yet. I guess that will be done after the lighting is completed.

Saw 2 bucket trucks hanging lights today. Guess they will paint stripes once trucks are done with lights. Hate to mark up those pretty yellow lines with tire tracks!

Rain f/s/s so maybe dr enuf by midweek to paint?

I've never targeted catfish specifically but I hear of people catching quite a few

Was going to pick up supper at dairy barn around 6:30 today and saw a truck launching a boat! He moved the orange barriers out of the way by the road and in front of the launch!

He definitely has a set of ball$!

Talked with Dean kelly with the PJ today and he said launch opening sometime in May. Contractor still has "some things to do"

I could really upset some people waiting for the launch to open but I will see how things play out..... let's just say there's a conflict involved;)

Just saw on Facebook that there will be a ribbon cutting Thursday April 2 @2 pm.

Gerald 04-03-2015 01:04 AM

The Boat launch is now open for everyone to use.

They had a gathering of about 30 people for the ribbon cutting. There were several speakers and rep. of the Coast Guard, Sheriff Dept and LDWF all with nice big boats back down at the launch.

After the 40 min. of speeches the launch was cleared and myself and another family launched our boats.

Note: the launch ramp is a little steep, so you do not have to back down very far before the boat starts floating.

I took a bunch of pictures....... before I realized I had left the SD card in my laptop.

I plan to launch a little before 7 this morn.

I have not been by after dark...... but that place should be lite up. There are 11 poles with lights like this.

Launched this morning, even got my USCG auxiliary inspection done while waiting to launch ...

Damn shame some trashy bastards already dumped crawfish heads and associated trash in the boat ramp :pissed: Heaven forbid we get the nicest launch anyone could ever ask for and someone trashes it the day after a ribbon cutting :shaking:

If I did not think it would get stolen, I would put up a game camera to catch "who Done-it".

Wow..... can't believe the "new" boat launch has been open for over a year now.

Here are a few updated pic. Usage of the ramp has been fairly heavy. During the week is still fairly light..... maybe 3 to 10 vehicles is the average.

But on weekends..... great to see all the people enjoying the water. A couple of week ago on a Sunday, my wife said that 2 trailers were parked out by the road. My pic was taken about 2 PM on last Saturday.

The Restroom and septic unit have looked to be completed for over a month, but the restroom gates remain "locked" and not open for use.
