We are still dry its still raining and we now a temporary island thankfully da pig is on the island and I was able to get a six pack of tall boy bushes and a family pack of chicken thighs and 3 lbs of onion kinda in the mood for sticky chicken and its still raining so let er rip.

83' is not much of a bench mark!!

But it sucks anyhow you look at it if your affected by it!!
Pry for anyone that has to go throw a flood, cause there's not much you can do!!

Water is deep here off 343 in Maurice. Hopefully we get a little break before the rain hits later tonight. Got water on the roads north south east and west can't get out unless by boat.

About 2 more inches than its in my home...

Thoughts and prayers to all having to go though this.

03:30 AM 8/14. Look for high ground before parking. It's been raining off and on since 10:00 PM last night and solid last couple hrs.

Yes that area was hit with a lot of water. I live off 42 in Prairieville about 5 miles West of Fred"s / French Settlement and that place is under water. Luckily, where I am at the water is not bad at all in my sub division as of now. My brother lives near Runnels off of South Harrels Ferry Rd and as of about 10 last night water was coming up in has neighbor hood pretry fast. It was basically too high for him to drive out. Cell phone service seems to now be out in the BR area but not sure when it went down. I tried calling and texting. Leaving my house now to see if I can get there some kind of way.

The sun is actually out this morning at the moment.

I know that area really well, my first job was over in Gonzales as a teenager. Pray for everyone this flood is going to change a lot of people's lives forever.

Never seen the vermillion river this high in my 30 years alive. What a mess....prayers for all affected.

4" more so far since 10:00 PM last night. Working my aaa off trying to keep several breaches in my levee system plugged. Thanks Goodness for a Hondas 4-wheeler & shovel. Total Rain since Friday pushing 24", I have my own "Rain Water" collectors (ie. Ice chest/ 55 gallon drum w/ top cut off and several other 6" collectors that I dump a minimum 2X/day).

I'm at a loss for words watching the news and looking on Facebook pages.
My house flooded in March with seven feet of water from the Sabine river. We had flood insurance paid off the mortgage and moved.
We had time to get most everything out of my house and my in-laws house. Whats happening now is totally different than what we went through. We are lucky that we didn't wake up and step in water like some of these people.
Prayers for all affected.

City of BR and area to the East is in a world of hurt right now.

I could not make it to my brothers house this morning. However, I finally got in touch with him at 1pm. At 9:30 this morning he had about a lttle over a foot of water in his house. An airboat picked him and his family up and brought them to a staging area where we picked them up.

Here is Prairieville about 1 mile East of where highway 44 intersects with highway 42 water is on the road. This is around 2 miles from my subdivision. No water in standing as of yet in my subdivision and pond in my neighborhood is maybe 60% full.

Glad ya safe over there. We are down the river on the west bank. We are dry but kinda sitting on an island. Thankfully the neighborhood grocery is also safe and dry with plaenty cold beer.

One of my cousins trying to make her way from N.O> to alexandria just posted to face book pictures of caskets floating on the side of the road In Zachery. Truly sad.

Mermentau river is getting bad and backing everything up into Crowley. Not good, my folks had higher water in their yard off Bayou Blanc then I have ever seen and I've been there all my life - my dad has been there for 40 years or more and never had that

Yep, read earlier that in 2013 the Mermentau crested at 8 feet, and caused a lot of flooding, they predicting that this time it will crest at 11 to 12 feet.
Hope everyone is paying attention and gets prepared ahead of time. I'm north, but flooding will be higher in all the bayous because of this. No where for the water to go.
